Your Help Makes it Possible

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center has become synonymous with surgical excellence worldwide. Philanthropy is critical to our continued success. Your gift to our hospital stays local, to improve health care in your community and to help us deliver world-class specialty care.

You may choose to make an unrestricted gift to Lahey, to be used where needed, or you may designate your gift to an area of special meaning to you – for instance, nursing programs, medical education, cancer care, cardiovascular medicine, or other clinical services.

In addition, you can make your gift in honor or memory of a family member, loved one, member of your Lahey care team, friend, or coworker as a generous and heart-warming way to pay tribute to that special person.

However you decide to contribute, please know that we are exceedingly grateful for your generous donation and your investment in the health of our community.

New Joseph C. Corkery, MD, Emergency Center

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center has a new world-class Emergency Department and Level II trauma center that is dramatically changing our patients’ experience.

The expanded facility features comfortable waiting areas, private rooms, and an imaging suite for CT scans and X-rays — all this and more so that we can quickly and expertly diagnose and treat patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries.

Generous gifts from our community of donors and supporters — grateful patients, engaged civic leaders, committed business partners, and dedicated Lahey providers and staff — have made possible an emergency department  that will serve our communities now and far into the future.

Continued support from our community is vital to this emergency department project. Your gift helps us provide even better patient care in a modern and sophisticated facility. We are prepared to handle the most urgent critically ill or injured patients.

If you would like to support our new Joseph C. Corkery, MD, Emergency Center, please consider making a donation now. For more information on naming opportunities within the new facility, please contact our Philanthropy Department at 781.744.3333 or Philanthropy@Lahey.org.

Global Outreach Program

The Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Global Outreach Program was established in 1993. The program  supports the humanitarian volunteer work of many employees who travel to developing countries to provide free medical care to people in need.

The Global Outreach Program specifically helps provide travel expenses for our staff who volunteer their time and expertise to treat people in need of medical care, both in the U.S. and in developing countries.

To help support the generous efforts of our doctors, nurses, and other staff members, we welcome your donation to the Global Outreach Program at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. For more information, contact Patti Newton, 781.744.3928.

Quality Patient Care

At Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, quality patient care is at the center of all we do. We are proud of our reputation for excellence coupled with the team-based, compassionate care for which Lahey is known.

The quality of our care is apparent in many ways. Our Cerebrovascular Disease Center is among the most advanced in the region for the treatment of strokes and brain aneurysms. Our liver transplantation team was the first in New England to perform adult living-donor transplant procedures. Our surgeons are using minimally invasive methods, including robotic procedures.

The Landsman Heart & Vascular Center at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is one of the largest in the region. As  partners with local hospitals, Lahey physicians are providing New England communities with expertise not available everywhere.  They are bringing advanced cardiology services such as angioplasty and electrophysiology to these communities, and helping to train other physicians.

As a research center, Lahey Hospital & Medical Center gives patients access to clinical trials of new treatments for diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and cataracts. Research programs at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center include hundreds of clinical trial protocols and participation in numerous national and international studies.

Technology & Equipment

Medical technology today is a true marvel. It’s also truly expensive. At Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, we are committed to offering the best possible technology to our patients, and that’s one reason why the support of our community is so important to us.

Among the latest technology we offer are two daVinci surgical robots. Guided by our expert surgeons, these robotic arms can perform surgery with more precision and more capabilities than ever before. We use the robots in minimally invasive surgery for gynecology, urology, colorectal, thoracic, head and neck, and general surgery procedures.

Lahey offers an innovative procedure called bronchial thermoplasty. This is successful in treating asthma symptoms in certain patients.

For patients with back pain, computerized navigation helps our surgeons perform complex spine surgery with better accuracy than ever before.

Lahey is the first hospital in New England to offer enrollment in advanced testing to help determine whether a spot found on a patient’s lung is benign or malignant, based on the patient’s genes. This can help eliminate risks that come with biopsies and increase the validity of test results.

These are just a few examples of the amazing technology available to you at Lahey — made possible in large part with the support of our generous donors.
