A Holiday Tradition of Giving

During a year when we all need a lift, the spirit of our annual Lights of Love will continue this holiday season. While we can’t join in person in 2020, we will celebrate the season with our annual fundraiser and the traditional lighted tree atop the roof of Addison Gilbert Hospital’s Washington Street entrance.

As a way to give back to the hospital that treated her colon cancer for years, Sue Kyle and her partner, Shawn Wilson, started the annual Lights of Love tree lighting at Addison Gilbert Hospital in 2008. Sue passed away in 2013, but Shawn and Sue’s mother have kept the fundraiser going in honor of Sue and all cancer patients who receive their treatment on Cape Ann.

Founded 13 years ago, Lights of Love has raised more than $300,000 in vital funding for cancer services, helping many hundreds of patients receive needed cancer treatments – right here, close to home. Funds have also created the Susan M. Kyle Patient Care Fund to help patients experiencing financial difficulties.
