Lahey Creates Healthcare Heroes Emergency Response Fund for COVID-19

Support your hospital’s response to the COVID-19 public health emergency

January 2021 Update:
The Healthcare Heroes Fund was created to support our nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and staff who are fighting the pandemic on the front lines. Our team is working around the clock to identify and address areas of greatest need, such as critical PPE to keep our caregivers and patients safe, enhanced testing efforts, and wellness programs and resources to support staff during what continues to be an incredibly trying time for everyone on the front lines of healthcare.

Your gift to the Healthcare Heroes Fund will have an immediate impact on our ongoing crisis response efforts, and will enable our frontline staff to focus on delivering extraordinary patient care to our community.

January 2021 Update: Food and In-Kind Donations
In order to ensure staff safety and equitable support for our healthcare heroes throughout the institution, we ask that any community members seeking to support our frontline responders donate to our Healthcare Heroes Fund. We are not able to accept gifts of food or non-medical supplies, but the tremendous support we continue to receive through the Healthcare Heroes Fund enables us to swiftly respond to the areas of greatest need for our team-supporting everything from warm winter clothes for the staff in our outdoor testing tents to staff meals, wellness resources, and relief for critical care providers working around the clock through the surge. If you have specific supplies or food items you wish to donate, read this list of community organizations that are among those currently accepting donations.

Your health is the top priority for our providers at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, where clinicians and staff are working around the clock to do everything possible to protect the health and safety of patients, staff and community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This public health emergency has affected every aspect of our daily lives. The impact on our health care system — including our hospitals, clinics and physician practices — is just as profound. We have greatly expanded our capacity to treat patients critically ill with the coronavirus. Our frontline providers continue to care for critically ill patients.

How can you help?

Making a gift of any size to the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Greatest Needs Fund will help provide immediate resources to hospital president Dr. David Longworth as we respond to the pandemic.
