Cupcakes for a Cause

Baking and decorating cupcakes was not how Allie Soper from Winchester planned to spend her summer. But when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and she had to leave college in Pennsylvania, she wanted to find her own way to help fight the coronavirus and flatten the curve. So Soper started selling cupcakes to raise money for Winchester Hospital.

To care. To heal. To excel. In service to our community. That is Winchester Hospital’s mission. An essential part of the mission is an educated, well-prepared nursing workforce. To help achieve that goal, the James F. McDonough, MD, Fund for Nurse Education and Development was established in 2002. Money for this fund is raised primarily through the annual James F. McDonough, MD, Golf Classic, and it provides scholarships to qualified nurses wishing to expand their knowledge and expertise.
